Richmond firefighter with ties to Roanoke is missing; family worried

A firefighter from Richmond has been missing for several days.

Daniel B. Lewis is a firefighter and medic who has ties to Roanoke.

Lewis came to the Roanoke Fire-EMS Department in 2013 and during his three year tenure with the department, they said he was a wonderful firefighter and friend.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with Daniel's family and friends during this time and we are praying for his safe return home," said Roanoke Fire-EMS Chief David Hoback.

Fire officials and Lewis' family are asking for all of Virginia's help in finding him.

He did not show up for his shift on Monday, July 29, 2019, and his parents have filed a missing report.

Lewis commutes from Newport News to Richmond for work.

If you have any information about Lewis' whereabouts, contact the Newport News Police Department at 757-353-8694.
