VDH Update: Nearly 9,000 Coronavirus/COVID-19 Cases in Va. with 300 Deaths

RICHMOND, Va. (WSET) – Coronavirus cases in Virginia are continuing to rise daily.

As of Monday, April 20 the Virginia Department of Health has reported 8,990 cases and 300 deaths. That's up 453 cases and 23 deaths from the previous day.

The Virginia Hospital and Healthcare Association dashboard on Monday shows there are 1,296 confirmed positive COVID-19 patients who are currently hospitalized and patients who are hospitalized with pending test results. They also report that 1,324 confirmed COVID-19 patients have been hospitalized and discharged.

There are 1,500 hospitalized patients with confirmed COVID-19, according to the VDH.
