Virginia ABC Stores Make Masks for Customers Mandatory Starting Monday

RICHMOND, VA. (WSET) -- Friday, Virginia ABC announced that it will join other retailers in requiring face masks in stores beginning Monday, July 20.

They said that ABC previously required customers to wear a face mask or face covering prior to shopping, but will now deny entry to any customer not wearing a mask.

Virginia ABC said they will attempt to provide a mask to customers who arrive without one.

They are joining major retailers like Walmart, Target, Kroger, Sam's Club, CVS and Kohl's in requiring masks while shopping.

More on this story from our media partner, ABC 13 - WSET.

For customers who cannot wear a mask due to a medical condition, Virginia ABC suggests using curbside pickup as an alternative to in-store shopping.
