Northam Increases Outdoor Sports Capacity Limits Ahead of Schedule

(WSET) — Gov. Ralph Northam Thursday amended his latest Executive Order to incorporate new guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention regarding mask use outdoors.

Earlier this week, the CDC announced new guidelines, lifting recommendations for masking outdoors while alone or in small gatherings-- for fully vaccinated individuals. You are considered fully vaccinated two weeks after receiving your last required dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Gov. Northam also revised capacity limits for outdoor recreational sporting events--effective immediately.

The amendment allows for up to 1000 spectators at outdoor recreational sporting events -- moving up the timeframe for the change by a little over two weeks.
