Pulaski County deputy charged with DUI on Christmas Eve

A Pulaski County deputy was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol on Christmas Eve.

The Pulaski County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call in regard to a sheriff's vehicle driving erratically Friday evening.

At around 7:15 p.m., the sheriff's office contacted Virginia State Police for assistance.

Officials say the patrol car had struck a curb and sustained minor damage in the crash.

The sheriff's deputy driving the vehicle, 35-year-old Lemmie L. Sanders was taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol - first offense. Sanders was on duty at the time.
