Dogs Rescued From Animal Hoarding Situation in Bedford County

BEDFORD COUNTY, Va. (WSET) — The Bedford County Sheriff's Office served a search warrant for animal cruelty and animal hoarding Tuesday afternoon.

Deputies arrived on the scene in the 1500 block of Eagle View Drive in Goodview after a tip about hoarding and possible animal cruelty came in through Crime Stoppers.

Around 26 dogs were found in and around the home in poor living conditions and malnourished, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Local veterinarians and animal rescue partners were called in to assist.

Thomas Duggins, a 71-year-old from Goodview, was arrested at the scene and charged on suspicion of 10 counts of animal neglect.
