LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) — New information is being released about a puppy stolen this week from the Lynchburg Humane Society.

According to LHS, the 2-month-old male puppy was likely taken between noon and 3 p.m. Tuesday.

A surveillance camera watching the puppy enclosure malfunctioned, so there's no video of the theft.

The camera near the exit doesn't show anything of significance, LHS said.

The puppy, who weighs about 4.5 pounds, is microchipped, and LHS is hopeful local vets may get tipped off or come in contact with the puppy.

A police report has been filed.
