Chris Brown and Frank Ocean got into a brawl
on Sunday night at a Los Angeles recording studio. The fight, which was
reportedly over a parking spot at the Westlake Studio, had not resulted in any
arrests at press time.
According to TMZ, the fight was reportedly started by Ocean and his crew,
who allegedly confronted Brown as the singer was leaving the studio after
listening to a new track by an artist he represents. An unnamed sourced told the
site that as Brown was exiting the complex Ocean and his pals blocked the exit.
The source claimed Ocean said, "This is my studio, this is my parking spot."
When Brown went to shake Ocean's hand, one of Ocean's crew allegedly attacked
Breezy and a fight broke out, ending with Frank and Chris getting into it.
"Got jumped by Chris and a couple guys. lol. I only wish everest was here,"
Ocean tweeted around 10:35 p.m., referencing his dog. The Grammy
nominee
later added, "Cut my finger now I can't play w/two hands at the
Grammys."
Brown posted a cryptic message on his Instagram account on early Monday morning, writing, "Working
on my album. Not working on negativity. Focus on feeding ya family. Bulls---
will forever be in the shadows."
An update on TMZ reported that police had cleared the scene by 10:45 p.m. and
that Brown was not around when officers arrived, but that they interviewed
Ocean. At press time no charges had been filed, but police said they are
continuing the investigation and would like to speak to Brown.
MTV News could not reach a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department
at press time. Spokespeople for Brown and Ocean could also not be reached for
comment at press time.
Ocean is being referred to as the victim in the case that reportedly involved
six men, after telling police that Brown punched him after the parking spot
dispute.
The two men have a history. Back in June
2011 they got into Twitter war when Brown posted a comment that Ocean took
as a musical insult. The virtual feud went ballistic, with Ocean's Odd Future
capo, Tyler, the Creator, getting in on the action.
Brown, who plead guilty to felony assault after attacking then-girlfriend
Rihanna on the eve of the 2009 Grammys, was injured last June in a brawl
with Drake and their respective entourages at a New York nightclub.
In November, Brown had a progress hearing on his probation from the Rihanna
assault in Los Angeles, where the judge gave him mostly good marks. However, he
got a stern warning for a positive drug
test,
even though he was never ordered to undergo mandatory testing as part
of his probation. He still has one year left on his five year probation term in
the Rihanna case.
After Brown posted images in December of himself overseas apparently smoking
marijuana, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Department of Probation
told MTV News that the department is prohibited from discussing the details of
probation cases. It was unknown at press time if the Ocean fight could result in
an investigation by the probation department.
