Billy Zane, who is best known for his role in Titanic, stopped by the launch of Ryan Seacrest Foundation‘s Seacrest Studios, an in-house multimedia broadcast center, inside Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC Children’s) and shared with us why he thinks Bible based shows are becoming such a trend.
The actor, who stars as Barabbas in Reelz Channel’s miniseries Barabbas shares: “We caught the biblical wave just right.”
Adding, the reason these miniseries, like History’s The Bible, have become so popular in his opinion is: “To be brutally honest, it’s purely economics and a study was done and whatever the percentage of the nation are Christians and are loyal to the ethos and any media that will present a story kindred to their beliefs. But within that, what’s interesting is you’re attracting a far wider audience.”
Adding, “what’s really unique about this particular miniseries is it resonates with believers, with Christians, with non-Christians, with Atheists [and] with people who just like gladiator movies; it’s tough and it’s got guts.”
